Neuroscience of Growth Mindset Podcast
Neuroscience + Growth Mindset - all in one podcast! Teach and inspire growth mindset, resilience and innovation. Learn the science of how the mind-brain-body system learns, achieves goals and how to help others transform their mindset so they can stop repeating the past and create more of what they want.
WHO IT'S FOR
For people who want to see their staff and clients be more open to try new approaches to learning and experiment with new ways of asking questions, solving problems, dealing with failure, and how to interact with others in socially intelligent ways.
Stay tuned for a few bonus episodes, featuring interviews with:
Caroline Szymanski, social neuroscientist at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. We discuss 'neural synchrony' and how teams with coherent brainwave activity perform tasks more efficiently. We also talk about the limitations of fMRI in studying human behavior ( hint: being stuck in a chamber by yourself and not moving isn't natural behavior) and how other technology such as fNIRS is giving neuroscientists a better chance of exploring ecologically valid ('natural') social interactions.
Suzanne Dikker- a social neuroscientist affiliated with the University of Utrecht and New York University. Her research merges cognitive neuroscience, education, and performance art in an effort to understand the brain basis of human social interaction. She's been studying student-teacher and student-student neural synchrony. She's looking at how different modes of instruction and other behaviors, such as eye contact, play a role in brainwave synchronization and how this could effect learning and retention.
